Photoshop Classes

Next year we have John Pottenger from Coastline Studios coming to speak at one of our Monday night meetings. Well, John also does photoshop classes. So, if you are looking for some photoshop classes, check him out! Here is a class he has coming up soon!

New Adobe Photoshop Classes!

Coastline Studios is proud to announce two separate Photoshop classes to help you improve your efficiency, creativity and productivity in Adobe Photoshop CS3 & CS4. It has been our experience that Photoshop is best learned in small doses with time to process after each lesson. By splitting the workshop into two days with time between each class, we believe this will maximize your learning potential and ability to implement the material into your everyday workflow.
These classes can be taken individually or as a combo package. Here is an overview of the classes being offered:

CLASS #1: “The Entrepreneur”

When: Friday, November 7th – 1pm to 5pm
Cost: $200 (or $350 for both classes)

Overview: This class will go over many of the new features of CS4 and how to use them as well as cover using Bridge to speed up your workflow and perform some advance image editing techniques using Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).

Class Highlights:
- A complete overview of many of the new features of Photoshop CS4 including:
1. Multiple tools and enhancements in ACR.
2. The new Dodge and Burn.
3. Content Aware Scaling.
4. Other misc tweaks and improvements.
- Streamlining your workflow - How to edit hundreds of images in one day, and deliver only your best work to your clients without spending weeks editing... all using Bridge and Camera RAW
- Master your use of Bridge: A complete overview of the program from top to bottom.
- Learn to use applicable shortcuts to save you time and energy.
- Advanced Adobe Camera RAW (ACR) Techniques including:
1. An in depth overview of many of ACR’s tools, sliders and features and how to use them effectively and creatively.
2. Color correction on difficult images.
3. Using the new localized corrections brush and gradient tools in CS4.
4. Saving presets to maximize editing time and build a consistent look to your images.

CLASS #2: “The Artist”

When: Friday, November 14th – 1pm to 5pm

Cost: $200 (or $350 for both classes)

Overview: This class will focus on mastering your editing skills in Photoshop and reveal time saving and creative techniques using multiple retouching tools, Actions, Layer Masks, Layer Blending Modes and Adjustment Layers.

Class Highlights:

- A creative approach of a complete makeover on a portrait (eyes, hair, teeth, wrinkles etc…)
- Exploring the liquefy tool to slim, enhance or correct a bad pose.
- Explore layer blending modes to enhance the presentation of your image.
- Creating and working with “Actions” and Batch processing to speed your workflow, and add your unique creative look to your images and brand.
- Master the art of using layer masks.
- Advanced techniques in performing Black & White or sepia conversions.
- Learn to use applicable shortcuts to save you time and energy.

Computers with Photoshop installed will not be provided and it is suggested that you bring a laptop with Photoshop CS3 or CS4 to the class to maximize your learning experience. While there will be many hands-on exercises throughout each class, a laptop with Photoshop installed isn’t required to take the class, but is strongly encouraged.
